I feel Nurse Rhonda did empower her patients to believe they could make the necessary changes to improve their quality of life. Rhonda asked open-ended questions to her patients, made eye contact, and would stop what she was doing to actively listen when they were talking. She picked up on subtle cues from the patient about how they were truly feeling. Then, she would initiate a conversation and inadvertently find out important information.
